Geophysical Surveys
Acquistion
The cost of an entire geophysical operation can be less than the cost of one drill hole. Why drill at a single point when you can get a map of an entire area?
GeoSynoptics conducts field work and acquires geophysical data at anytime of year, processes the data in-house using a combination of well tested commercial, proprietary and open source software. Preliminary results of a survey can often be viewed in less than a week of conducting a survey.
This electromagnetic conductivity map was produced
by GeoSynoptics. Identifying highs and lows in the
magnetic field, through geophysics, allows for a more targeted drilling
operation resulting in cost savings throughout the life of the project
Processing
Once data is acquired, the data is loaded into geophysical processing software and is checked for quality. If data is not of sufficient quality the reason is found, and the data is re-acquired. Since most data is acquired with differentially corrected GPS data, it can be transformed into any data frame and processed.
Interpretation
The most important part of any geophysical survey is interpretation. It is extremely important to understand what the final product is telling you. A professional geophysicist interprets the data and ensures that the data is well understood by the client. We recognize that oftentimes geophysics is only on component of an overall project plan and educating the client to what the data means is an important step in understanding the site as a whole.
Geophysical Surveys
Some of the geophysical surveys we provide are:
- Seismic surveys for mapping bedrock
- Magnetic and gradiometric surveys for identifying targets of interest
- Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys.
- Electromagnetic surveys (e.g EM-31) for mapping conductivity
We aspire to carry a reputation in the marketplace for developing and delivering time savings and quality services. We can achieve this by understanding the needs of our users, and educating our users in geophysical methods. Contact us to discover how we can help you get a "GeoSynoptic" view of your site!
